DimDim is an open source web conferencing service that allows users to host online meetings with ease. Unlike most online meeting services, DimDim is completely web based meaning users are not required to download any additional software to host or attend online meetings.
DimDim offers three levels of web conferencing services to suit the needs of different businesses.
-DimDim Free:
*Online meetings can have up to 20 attendees.
*Users can host unlimited meetings.
*Cost is free.
-DimDim Pro :
*Online Meetings can have up to 100 attendees.
*Users can host unlimited meetings.
*DimDim pro houses dedicated servers for Pro online meetings.
*Cost is $25 per month.
-DimDim Enterprise
*Online meetings can have up to 1000 participants.
*Users can host unlimited meetings.
*Support for integration of existing infrastructures like LDAP directories.
*Cost can be suited depending on your needs.
DimDim provides a secured dedicated server for each of the three web conferencing services. Servers are secured and maintained regularly in an effort to provide smooth online meetings.
DimDim full supports video and audio conferencing allowing users to connect via webcam and VOIP services. If needed, DimDim offers the ability to dial into the meeting via a secure telephone number and password.
Overall DimDim offers a full range of service and support that is expected from similar software at only a fraction of the cost. The ability to host and access online meetings without any software downloads allows users to be up and running instantly.

DimDim has a lot of promise, but it’s latest update is a serious disappointment. You can talk, but your participants have to ask to get audio. For now – use DimDim only if you want to do a webcast and don’t need interactive web conferencing. And if you call to find out what developments are on the way, expect a lot of excuses because of “flash limitations.”
It is very unfortunately that DimDim was bought out by SalesForce.com and isn’t available to the public anymore. Some good alternatives are: Fuze Meeting, Skype, Yugma, and YuuGuu.
